I would like to say a massive thank you to customer services for recomending this dogi. The reason being since wearing it for the first week of its wear it has easily become my favourite dogi over the hirota (of which I have had a number of different models) as well as the tokaido. The only thing that causes great confusion for me is to why on earth the tokyodo dogi are so much cheaper in price in comparison to the other leading brands when the stitching is on a league of its own, the cut is perfect for any shape or size and the feel is to die for. I will be ordering more tokyodo dogi to replace my hirota and tokaido dogi. Thank you Kuroobiya.
I'm very pleased with this Dogi which I have used for app. 30 hours of hard training so far. The material is nothing like anything I've known. It is very soft but it also feels very light and durable at the same time. It has very (very) light blue shade which fades out after a couple of washings. Speaking of washing: The dogi is easy to handle as it doesn't get to stiff when wet and it does dry real quick. I ordered the Dogi with shortened sleeves and trousers and the guys at tokyodo did a fantastic job. I was worried that the Dogi might be to tight for the average european. But it does offer plenty (!) of room, so there is nothing to worry about. I'm 185 cm and ordered a 190cm version just like I would do with any other Dogi-Brand from Europe. As soon as my other Dogi have to be replaced, they will be replaced by a tokyodo Dogi.
I love this Gi! For some reason the pants were about 4 inches too long, but I was able to get them hemmed. I wish I would have just gotten measured and submitted the custom tailoring information. But otherwise, this is a fantastic Gi. Plenty of room, light-weight, and has maintained it's snap over the course of several weeks of normal training.
