The HAYATE NF-1 Karate Kata Gi is part of Mitsuboshi's flagship "Neo-Fabric" series. The concept is to create the ultimate heavy-weight fabric for powerful kata whilst also being comfortable to wear, move in and maintain. Made from a double-layered poly-cotton blend the NF-1 possesses a distinct and deep "oto-nari", perfect for explosive kata.
Though being thick material, by including 30% polyester, they have achieved lightness and quick drying. By wrapping polyester with cotton, it gives a nice a soft feel along with strength and breathability. It is also resistant to shrinking. The material has undergone HA processing, giving it an original and strong sound. Because of the bilayer thread with cotton-wrapped polyester, it is also resistant to wrinkling.
Heavy-weight Karate gi can sometimes feel cumbersome, but the NF-1 takes advantage of Mitsuboshi's innovative HA Treatment - this hardens and reinforces the fabric, but retains its soft texture.
