Currently there are three of us running the show, so to speak.
Hamid Abassalty.
I am originally from the UK. I am married (to Yumiko) and have one daughter. I have been
practicing karate since 1985. I started karate with Kevin Hickey
Sensei under Enoeda Keinosuke Sensei (JKA), and was graded by him to 1st dan in 1989. I
then trained with Gordon Farquhar Sensei at the Aberdeen Bushido Karate Club
under Asano Shiro Hanshi (SKIF). I was graded by him to 2nd dan. I actively
competed in both kata and kumite from 1992 -2001 at regional, national
and international level. I now occasionally compete in Japan at prefectural level.
I then followed my childhood dream to come to Japan in 1997 and have been here ever since. I graded 3rd Dan and 4th Dan (SKIF) under Kanazawa Hirokazu Kancho in Japan.
I currently teach English and karate six days a week in Japan and my students compete at prefectural, regional and national level (JKF). I am also a prefectural and Kyushu region referee (JKF).
Having dealt with these manufacturers for a number of years now, and being in contact with them on a regular basis,(not to mention being a consumer) I have an indepth knowledge of their products. My job will be to deal with all your inquiries and special requests; give you advice and oil the clogs at kuroobiya.
Yumiko (Hamada) Abassalty
I'm from Japan and married to Hamid. I am a qualified Japanese language teacher. My jobs will be to deal with the companies on your behalf; check all embroideries; check orders; pack and ship your orders and keep the boys in line(Edit: and make tea). I am the boss!!!
Justin Hunt.
I am from New Zealand. I am also married here in Japan and have 2 daughters. My background is in computers and so I handle the Kuroobiya systems - (antiseptic rooms full of scientists and cabinet after cabinet of flashing lights and giant tape reels humming under the air conditioning). That means that I am responsible for any technical issues related to this site, as well as advertising and promotion. I'll also deal with any corporate inquiries. Here is a picture of me getting an order ready at HQ (lol!)
